Six Degrees of Connection

One of our theological tenets and a core value of Unitarian Universalism is that all life is interconnected and interdependent. This notion is found in pop culture, too, popularized by the idea of "six degrees of separation": that everybody on earth is separated by only five other social connections. There's a short story, a play, and a movie that all explore this idea - and even a fun game called Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon (really!) As entertaining as the idea can be, how might our cultures and societies shift if we truly behaved as if we are connected to lives we'll never meet or know? And can we as a people of faith behave that way? Let's explore our own degrees of connection today in this all-ages service that strives to remind us we are not as separate as some would have us believe. Rev.
